I was happily surfing this morning, and then the cable light on the modem went out again.

The technician yesterday did up all the connectors (except, fortunately, the ones connecting the DVD to the VCR) so firmly that I can't budge them. I'll have another look at them in a bit, but I suspect I'll need another visit, and this time it isn't likely to happen tomorrow.

Also, the TV signal is glitching like crazy again. I suppose it's possible I disturbed something this morning when I shifted the RF modulator back to its proper place, but this is highly annoying.

Below the cut is a list of classical music tracks. (Apologies to real classical music buffs; we're not distinguishing between recordings here, just pieces.) Bold the ones you own; italicize ones where you own a different part of the same piece.

I'm interested to note that though I own quite a bit of Mozart, it doesn't overlap that much with the list. I really ought to index the CD collection one of these days, so I can shop a bit more systematically.

Also, though I own Also sprach Zarathrustra, I've never actually played it. I bought it after hearing the piece at a concert, but I'm completely intimidated by it.

It turns out there really is trouble with the cable in this whole corner of the complex. Somebody obviously had better luck with reps than I did; as dark was falling, I heard thumps outside, discovered that my signal had disappeared completely, and found a burly gentleman working on the problem. Half an hour later, he'd succeeded in putting in a 'temporary line', and I was back in business, at least for now.

I don't think I'm going to cancel that tech call just yet, though. If things are still working in the morning, maybe.

Phrases about rear ends and elbows, and right and left hands, are running through my mind.
