Only 4cm fell in Croydon yesterday but it was enough to cause travel chaos. I took the train home from East Croydon as all busses were gridlocked. A good decision as I got home much quicker then expected in just over an hour from leaving work at 3:30pm.

Travel chaos does seem to be inversely proportional to how often it snows. About a centimetre was enough to close the schools in Tucson a couple of years ago.
