I'm wearing a pair of slacks today that commit at least three fashion faux pas just by existing: they're eleven years old; the waistband sits at my waist; and the legs are somewhat tapered. (They're also an inch or so shorter than fashion dictates, and a shade of blue that isn't one of this year's colors.) They're much more comfortable than the more recent, lower-slung versions, if not particularly flattering. (Mind you, I don't think it's very flattering to have my shirt continually coming untucked, either.)

There are upsides and downsides to every size, I suspect. I'm hoping that one day there will be sew-on-demand booths in department stores; about the only way I can get sleeves long enough is to have things custom-made, and I can neither sew nor afford bespoke tailoring.
