The weather outside is frightful

Of course, one can’t complain about rain, but this is the fourth day in a row, and the coldest yet, with a high temperature that never reached 50. There was snow on l he mountains, when the clouds briefly lifted to reveal them. We have been getting occa.sional scraps of rainbow, which is some consolation. Days like this remind me how much I’ve adjusted to the desert, become dependent on sunlight, and lost my ability to shrug off cold and wet.

We could do with some of your rain. But you've adapted to the dry, so I do understand.

We do need it here -- though it seems to be done for now, and the fog is supposed to lift by midmorning -- but it isn't what we're used to, even in December.
