I have just taken delivery of a copy of the 6th Malazan novel, The Bonehunters. What with shipping and the ridiculous exchange rate, this UK MMPB probably cost me almost two locally-grown hardcovers. The good thing is that at the rate Tor is catching up, the next one ought to be available in hardcover here round about the same time it comes out in paperback in the UK.

Date: 2007-03-30 03:16 am (UTC)My problem with long series is that I don't have the time these days to reread the previous volumes every time a new one comes out, so I spend a lot of time trying to remember who all these people are and what they did to each other before. The Erikson books are not as strongly linked as some, so it isn't quite as much of an issue.
