The cable modem stopped seeing the internet again this morning, and this time no amount of fiddling with connections will bring it back. Nice young man at the cable company declines to speculate on whether it's the modem itself or the cable. I was leaning to the modem, myself, because I can't make it work even plugged into the direct incoming line. On the other hand, now (after all the messing about) the TV signal is glitchy unless that is connected to the direct line, so maybe there is a noise problem somewhere.
Much dislike for threaded coax connectors on stiff cables ...
And 26.5K dialup is a nightmare on today's internet.
I think I may have an internet addiction problem.
