Cold Snap!

It was actually almost cool today, which is to say that the high temperature was in the high 70's. I wore my new purple jacket and jeans, just because I could, and it felt great. (I have a sneaking suspicion the jeans are a couple of inches shorter than the conventional ideal, but I like them that way; I can't stand trouser-cuffs flopping over my shoes any more than I can stand hair flopping over my face.) The sky was clear; the light was crisp and particular. The pink chorisia tree on the campus has a couple of flowers, beautifully marked but unfortunately out of range.

I wonder if the campus bookstore will have the new Robert Jordan tomorrow?

Amazon is preparing to ship my copy of the new Jordan. I'm probably looking forward to it more than I should be, given the utter bloatedness of the last few books, but hey, at least this is (supposedly) the next to last one.
