Small dilemna

So I went mad in the bookstore yesterday, and on Amazon last week, and as a result now have half a dozen and will soon have a dozen books that don't fit into the schedule or on my nice little imminent-reading shelf. I'm justifying this to myself by thinking of them as emergency stash -- books to grab for journeys and suchlike.

The question I'm now asking myself is: should I just shelve them in their proper alphabetical places, as I always used to do with new books until this year, or should I put them somewhere by themselves? And if so, where? In the linen closet? The master bedroom closet? Leave them sitting in a reproachful pile on the side table in the living room?

I vote for the pile, but don't see the reason to take up valuable side table space. Mine are on the floor beside the bed. :-)

Compromise for the moment: a pile in a spare empty corner of bookshelf in the bedroom.
