Morning Walk

Suddenly realizing that this might be my last chance at the prickly-pear flowers for this year, I actually got up this morning and took the camera for a walk. I came back with 105 photos.
There's one kind of yellow prickly pear where the flowers, a little past their best, turn a lovely delicate salmon-pink shade. Then there was a cholla with cerise flowers, and the orange flowers on the giant prickly pears, and one lonely hedgehog cactus. In the non-cactus category were some trees with delicate purple blossom. I kept surprising lizards whisking about in the undergrowth, and spotted a cottontail rabbit in a yard and a gambel's quail trotting across a quiet side street. None of them posed for me, though.
I made a montage of the 98 landscape-format pictures. A small version can be seen below the cut, linked to a 400K 1024-pixel-wide one.
