We had a storm this afternoon -- the second good one of the monsoon. At its height the air was gray-white with rain and the streets were ankle-deep in rushing, ring-dappled water. It had tailed off by the time I came home, but there was still gentle rain and a steady mutter of thunder.
It's supposed to be Really Hot at the weekend, but I'm leaving on Sunday for a week in Boulder, and I probably don't need to go out on Saturday, so that's all right.
The campus bookstore has a little island display combing zombie books and Jane Austen books -- including a Sanditon with a completely different ending than the one I grew up with -- with the centerpiece of course being Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
I'm not really anything like out of things to read, but the fiction part of the Backlog is shrinking enough to make me slightly antsy again. The non-fiction part isn't shrinking at all, but I haven't been in a non-fiction mood lately. For values of lately covering the last couple of years, really, which is bad.
The poor old Behemoth laptop is really driving me around the bend these days, but I think it can wait until I get back from my summer holiday.
