Wildfire season has started, according to the local news. Just what we need -- smoke as well as pollen in the bone-dry air.
I got to work this morning to find that my colleague had kindly brought me coffee, but accidentally mixed up the cups and given me the one with cream. (Not a disaster, but decidedly not my preference.)
Then I noticed that my computer was not getting any net access --- and a Linux workstation that's set up to have a permanent net connection makes a pretty good doorstop when the bits stop flowing. It took me a while to figure out that it was in fact my network card, and not the building network, that was the problem. All fixed by the time I got back from lunch, but not a great start to the day.
Meant to bring home the coffee jar I keep in the office, but forgot. If that's the worst thing that's bothering me, I'm more fortunate than plenty of people.
Possibly I spend too much time online. There's a sign beside the road between here and work that reads 'FREESTANDING BLDG.' I keep reading it as 'Freestanding Blog'.
