I should point out that not all cactus flowers are flamboyant or even pretty,

and that not all the flowers around the place this week are cactus flowers.

I can't put names to most of these, but the yellow ones are palo verde blossom. The palo verde trees are one of the big sources of colour at the moment, along with red and white oleander and bougainvillea and the vivid spring green of mesquite and acacia foliage. The white one (about an inch across, on a shrubby bush) looks very like the pink one in [livejournal.com profile] rilina's icon. [Edit: [livejournal.com profile] rilina identifies hers as plumeria.]

I believe the flower in my icon is plumeria (http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/faculty/bridges/sonytest/plumeria/plumeria.htm).
