I have enough beads for several more projects, ranging from another fairly simple beads-on-wire job to a much more elaborate construction with chain and beads on pins; I'm not sure that the rough-polished, badly drilled amethyst chips are good for much, but I might come up with something.

I also have an idea ...

The Necklace that Started it All, in a sense, is that one I bought summer before last, a thick sheaf of strands of tiny seed beads. They're all -- apart from one stray speck of turquoise -- the same color, a pleasant pinkish-beige. I now find myself considering doing something similar, but with multicolored beads shading, say, from red to purple along each strand. I've done the math; thirty 14" strands at 17 beads to the inch comes to 7140 beads -- about four half-hanks. The snag is, I'm fairly sure it would have to be done with thread rather than wire. Thread means knots and needles, neither of which I'm particularly keen on. (There's a reason I prefer crocheting doilies to anything that requires joining parts by sewing.)

I really liked that green necklace. I hope you keep going for sure.
