One of those days

The battery in my useful watch has died. This probably means that I'll be stuck with wearing the pretty watch for the next two weeks, unless I buy one at the Phoenix airport next weekend. The student bookstore doesn't have them; I checked.
I meant to do crochet on the bus this morning, only to find myself without a hook. It turned out that the hook had been on my desk at work all weekend, so at least I had it for the trip home.
It was windy again today. Most of the flowers are looking distinctly chavelled* even when they aren't bouncing in and out of shot.
OK, I've got my favourite CNN show at 7pm, but it's a special all-pope edition. And there's nothing else on this evening that I consider worth watching, only basketball and the odds-and-ends that get thrown on around it. Time for another Hornblower DVD? On the other hand, maybe I should print out the taxes and pick up the bank statements from the study floor.
*I'm not entirely sure if this is (north-of-England) dialect or just a family coinage; I think of it as a useful portmanteau of 'chewed' and 'unravelled'.
