It's my father's birthday; he would have been sixty-seven. Back home it's daffodil time; here the daffodils, what few exotic specimens there were, are well over, but ...

the roses are starting to get serious about this flowering thing.

I think he'd have liked this; I also like to think he'd have been intrigued by what I was doing today, filling in missing frames in a sequence of images of a rotating sphere so that the features keep moving smoothly.

Thank you. It's an old sadness by now, worn smooth and almost comfortable, bu t it never completely goes away.
