Suddenly Spring

There are buds on the cholla and the hedgehog cacti, and the Texas mountain laurel bushes are in full boozy-smelling purple bloom. I went to check on the further-flung orchid tree; I've seen it looking more impressive, but there were a couple of mourning doves just sitting there, almost too close to zoom.
