Time for plan C?

Those of us with emergency alternative accounts on GreatestJournal probably need a different solution; it looks as though GJ is effectively dead. It's been in a slow death spiral for the last six months or so, and the lone (?) maintainer seems to be throwing in the towel.

How big _is_ the population there? I've only ever registered my username and written a 'I'm not here' post, so I have no idea. Yes, a mass migration would be bad for anyone. The price of success :-(

GJ claims just shy of two million on the front page, but that probably includes a lot of inactive accounts. IJ is at about 100K right now and the owner thinks he can handle doubling that in the next year. So IJ probably could absorb the active population of GJ, though not effortlessly, but if anything went seriously wrong with LJ it could be a problem.
