Playing around with the new camera

I can't wait to try it out in daylight!




(These are full size if you click all the way through -- about 2Mb on average. It's 8Mpx to the old one's 4.1, and 12x optical zoom, but the default mode is fairly efficiently
compressed.)

	Super-macro Ring on doily (number 10 thread)
	Zoomed in from about five feet away (And the facial recognition kicked in!)
	Zoom over about ten feet Clock on the study wall, from the door, with the new camera.
	Zoon from the door (old camera) Same position, max (3x) optical zoom.

I have an S2, and I find it perfectly convenient for carrying in a coat pocket, but it isn't small enough for a sweater pocket or anything like that. You'll love the macro for flower shots.

The only problem I have with the S2 is that it's a fixed lens camera, and that's not a problem so much as a limitation. I'm still learning how to do manual focus with it, and once I master that and a couple other things I'm going to buy an SLR (so, you know, late 2008 at least because I'm pokey). Then I can get the ultra macro and telephoto shots I long for.

I see we have the same clock. :) Yay Target.

This one does have the option to add lenses with an adapter, but I'm not going to jump into that right away -- there's plenty to learn as it is. I don't know if I'll ever have your eye, though!

Funny about the clock! Target does have some nice things.
