Monday update

ellarienI think we can call it a computer, now. It has the bits of Office that I need, and Photoshop Elements and all my photos, complete with their tags. This evening the little network icon refuses to be convinced that we are actually on line, for some reason, but otherwise everything seems to be working.
In between two sessions of messing with the computer, I went to Phoenix. I have no groceries, though. Maybe I'll do something about that in the morning.
The weather is starting to show signs that we may have autumn, or at least post-monsoon, soon. It's still hot, but any reasonable standards, but today the temperature barely made it into the 90s, and it does cool down quite noticeably at sunset. In another week or two, I may be coming home and not immediately cranking the AC and changing into shorts; I'm already sleeping under a light quilt for at least part of the night.
I was saddened to hear that James Rigney (Robert Jordan) has died. I've been following the WOT series since the very early 1990's, and it's easy to forget how in the early days it was really something special. I had no personal connection to the author (friend of an internet friend-of-a-friend doesn't really count), but it still feels like a loss, and he was too young to die.
