For a scientific meeting in Honolulu, with possible opportunities for walking on the beach.





Clothes: 1 top/day, a dress, a skirt, two formal and two informal pairs of capri pants.
Nightdress. Underwear. Slip. Socks, just in case.
Brush and comb.

Necklace to go with the dress, carefully packed in bubble-wrap.
Hair ornaments.

Thumbtacks, for putting up posters.

Box of cables, connectors etc.

Box and display stand for a medal.

Flip-flops, Sandals.

Bible. Emergency back-up Tim Powers paperback.

Breakfast/snack bars.

Toiletries including plenty of sunscreen!






Laptop.

Books. (Erikson's The Bonehunters, which ought to last me the trip, and a book on the last Empress of China.)

iPod, camera, phone, Palm, Palm Keyboard, and their respective chargers.
Noise-canceling headphones, if room.

Pens and pencils
Notebook.

Travel documents.
Allergy and headache pills. Tissues.

Old glasses and clip-on sunglasses, as I haven't yet found satisfactory clip-ons for the new pair.

Umbrella
Cardigan





And in addition to all that, I'll be carrying a three-foot poster tube and wearing a shady hat and the waist pouch with my cash and wallet.
