ellarienToday I went down to check on the little peach tree at the other end of campus. It has one blossom open, and a lot of buds on the point of bursting. Very fragile, very lovely, completely surrounded by ugly buildings and bike racks.
So my new Palm and keyboard arrived, and I've been playing. All went well (though the useless naffness of the supplied cover has to be seen to be believed, and the thing would probably work better if I could bring myself to risk applying the real screen protector film instead of the shipping one with writing on it) ... until I brought them home, and at some point after I put in the WEP code for my home network, the keyboard turned itself off and refuses to be turned back on.
Somehow I don't think writing fiction in Graffiti (or by poking at a tiny virtual non-qwerty keyboard) is going to work. Sigh.
Also I'm not feeling completely well. I hope I'm not getting whatever has had my boss out all week, especially as I'm supposed to be going to Phoenix at the weekend. (Speaking of which, I was looking forward to a three-day weekend, until I was reminded that we have Rodeo day (next Friday) rather than presidents' day; this turned up in the course of trying to schedule a telecon with the NM site, which does observe presidents' day.
Very tempted to retire to bed early rather than try to get any words tonight.
