Two small sighs
Nov. 23rd, 2004 09:47 pmI picked up a few things at the grocery store this morning, including a cherry pie intended for Thanksgiving dinner with colleagues. The bakery there has some nice things. Unfortunately, I forgot that a deep-filled, lattice-crust fruit pie was likely to be less indestructible than their bear claw coffee cake, and by the time I got home it was edible (apart from the bits of filling that escaped) but no longer presentable. So it looks as though I'll be eating pie for dessert for a few days.
This evening, I got up from crocheting and trailed a dozen yards of thread, hooked over a sweater button, half way across the apartment. Crochet thread being what it was, it formed a knot of gordian complexity, with which I eventually had to deal in the traditional manner, so the doily will end up with two more loose ends that it needed to have.
Other than that, I spent much of the day playing Myst IV.
That went pretty well. If it had been any other kind of game, I might have been a bit worried when the place blew up as soon as I solved the first major puzzle, but this is Myst, after all: I'm reasonably sure I can't actually die or mess up irrevocably this early in the game.
