Now you see it ...

Amazon's database is acting oddly. Specifically, the bit of it that determines whether items are in stock, available for pre-order, or not available, seems to be misbehaving. Two of the books in my Shopping Cart, due out later this year, suddenly started claiming not to be available a couple of days ago; now they're pre-orderable according to their product pages but won't actually appear in my cart. Meanwhile, books that aren't due out for a week or three pop up as 'In Stock' for a few days and then go back to 'available for pre-order.'
I'm just a little perturbed, speaking of Amazon, that there only seem to be about a dozen books I want to buy for the first half of next year. Still, between the New Backlog and rereading, I don't think I'm really going to run out of reading matter.
