I'm safely back in Tucson. Going to fall over soon, but I'd better round up something to eat first.

Best travel accessory ever: a pair of $40 off-brand noise-canceling headphones. They don't completely block the sound of 747 engines, but they cut it down enough to make the iPod audible, which is nice when the classical music channel on a twelve-hour flight is on a two-hour loop.

I got a good travel accessory recently. It's an iPod accessory kit that includes a single-use battery supposedly good for 8 hours (provided one follows some absurd regimen of optimal usage including no backlight, no switching between songs and no equalization) and a rechargeable battery pack that's supposed to be good for up to 12 hours (previous restrictions apply). Anyway, the best part is I got them all for ten dollars instead of 50, because the Radio Shack was going out of business. Maybe I should have bought two. The earphones I have aren't technically noise-cancelling, but they fill the ears in a way that drowns out a lot of outside sound.
