I'm in Beijing. Went sightseeing at the Forbidden City yesterday, many photos. Journey was fine -- familiar faces on the plane, and the conference laid on a bus from the airport to the hotel. Hot, grey, sticky, crowded. More later, maybe.

Everything's fine, except that the AC in the conference center seems to consist of portable units brought in for the occasion, which the wiring can't quite manage to run without tripping breakers, and the internet is a little erratic.

I have photos of lotus flowers! (Also about 150 of the Forbidden City and 30 of Tiannamen Square.)
