Well, what they said was 'Forty per cent chance of valley rain and mountain snow showers,' actually. I think it was raining when they said that, and it's been raining on and off most of the day -- gentle rain, but grey and miserable all the same. The general cheerfulness of things is not improved by the amount of frost-killed foliage around, either.
