ellarienWell, what they said was 'Forty per cent chance of valley rain and mountain snow showers,' actually. I think it was raining when they said that, and it's been raining on and off most of the day -- gentle rain, but grey and miserable all the same. The general cheerfulness of things is not improved by the amount of frost-killed foliage around, either.
(I think the title quote is from a book of my mother's, a dilapidated paperback entitled 'Yet More Comic and Curious Verse,' which I spent far too much time reading in my youth. It does not appear to be googleable.)
