I'm in Birmingham, with a small elderly suitcase, my laptop, and two pounds of plums from my mother's garden.
The organizers of the meeting in Romania mention temperatures in the 10-15C range next week. The local weather site pegs this week's temperatures there in the high 70's to low 80's. I have no idea what the current UK airport policy is on outdoor coats, and the one I have would take up most of the small suitcase on its own.
Every time I look at the program for that meeting, there are fewer names I recognize. This is faintly worrying.
I can't find a copy of
anghara's Embers of Heaven. On the bright side, though, I'm enjoying Neal Stephenson's The Diamond Age.
