I wandered down to the bookstore at lunchtime, exercising my willpower. I was intrigued by the Tor MMPB of Erikson's Gardens of the Moon; it's only about an inch thick, while my UK edition is about half as thick again. Examination of my copy when I got home suggests that this was achieved mostly by thinner paper, and slightly closer printing.

So Microsoft is getting into the anti-spyware business. I was mildly amused that Firefox flat-out refused to run the 'validation' program from the Microsoft site.

Humph. Just noticed that the Tim Powers paperback on the imminent-reading shelf is not, as I thought, Expiration Date, but Declare, which I read last year. Is my brain falling apart? Twice this week, I've poured myself a cup of coffee, put it down in the living room, then wandered off, and poured another cup on my next swing through the kitchen.

I don't think I can do the Mapquest meme, what with my hometown and current address being on different continents. It usually takes me about 24 hours door-to-door, but that allows a fair amount of time for waiting around.
