Last night I watched the last three episodes of Stargate:SG1 Season 8 back to back.
8.18: "Threads"
Sweet, quiet episode, though I do find myself womdering in retrospect if they needed to save some SFX budget for the finale. I was sad to see Jacob go, but it was nice to see Jack and Sam fishing together at last. It might have been even better if Jack's redhead/herring had been around for an episode or two (or was she, and I didn't notice?)
8.19/20: "Moebius"
It's a time-travel episode, and as such the plot probably doesn't stand too much close scrutiny. The alternate-timeline SG-1 were fun, though. I noticed that Dr. Carter had completely different body-language, much less self-assured; it wasn't just the glasses, awful though they were. (This is one of the points where I worry about the premise, though; wasn't Carter in the military before the Stargate was discovered?) I must say, though, that most of the female civilian scientists of my acquaintance are rather less dorky than that.
