Utter, jet-lagged randomness

In Denmark I encountered something labelled as 'Persian Earl Grey Tea', which was black tea with jasmine. It was rather pleasant, reminiscent of the jasmine tea in Chinese restaurants, but Google wots not of it.

Does anyone ever check actually their bag against the claim tag? As opposed to, oh, reading the label to be sure it has their name on, if the bag has no other distinguishing features?

By the same token, I've never noticed a rush to the carriage doors when the announcer on the (British) train exhorts people to go and read the safety notices there. (And indeed, such a rush would probably be in contravention of advice to keep luggage with you and out of the aisle.) If they actually wanted the notices to be read, they'd do better putting them where people could see them from their seats.

Denmark has double-decker trains.

There used to be the occasional airport which had people stationed at the exits from baggage claim and THEY checked the tag against the bag. I've gotten very careless about keeping track of that....

Yes, I've run into that in Atlanta.

When I flew back from Copenhagen to London on Friday, I either didn't get a claim tag at all, or lost it immediately. I suspect they stuck it on the printed itineray and then didn't hand it back to me; for the outgoing flight, they stuck it to the cover of my nice new passport, rather to my annoyance. The prevalence of e-tickets these days does make it harder to find a place to park the claim check; some of the airports/lines will give you a folder for your boarding passes, but not all. Lately I've had them stuck on itineraries, or even just handed over loose on the backing paper.

Most of Northern Europe has double-decker trains; I've certainly ridden on them in the Netherlands and in Germany.

Unfortunately, most of Britain's tunnels were built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who imagined very wide trains but not very tall ones, so we can't run double-decker trains because they wouldn't fit.
