It's been overcast today, but the temperatures were still well into the 90's, and it felt close and sticky even though the humidity was less than 15%. This is not my favourite kind of Tucson weather! Meanwhile, my office stays at its year-round 75 degrees, for which my outdoor-suitable clothes are not quite adequate; I have the British prejudice in favour of having interior temperatures at least somewhat correlated with outside ones.

I found a barrel cactus in bloom, though, one of the little spiny ones, which was a nice surprise, and the softer light made my lunchtime photographic wanderings somewhat pleasanter than they've been of late.

In other news, it's just hit me that I have six working days left before the England+Copenhagen trip, which I have mostly not been worrying about because the logistics were taken care of weeks ago. Meanwhile, it's not at all clear that the logistics of the China trip are actually progressing, despite assurances, but at least the early-registration deadline has been moved back a week.

Also, the apartment is being Inspected tomorrow, so I need to at least take out the trash and do a bit of cosmetic cleaning tonight. I think they're more interested in stuff like holes in the floor than minor untidiness, but technically the terms of the lease would seem to require rather more housework than I normally manage.
