Maybe today will be the day Tucson breaks 100 degrees for the first time this year, but I'm headed to Phoenix, where that happened Monday or Tuesday. One of the (few, from my point of view) advantages of this bone-dry heat is that I can go out with freshly-washed hair and come back half an hour later with it dry -- and I have quite a lot of hair!

It turns out that my grandmother had eight great-grandchildren altogether, though at least two of them will be too young to remember her even if she ever saw them.
