Amazon has now added China to their list of international sites.

A colleague actually ordered something from the Japanese version recently -- an obscure CD not available anywhere else. He forwarded me the 'your order has shipped' e-mail, which isn't actually readable, but we're fairly sure that's what it is.

It would be cool to order from the Asian sites. Of the non-English language sites, I've only ordered from amazon.de, and my minimal German and very detailed knowledge of how the US site works (from having managed Amazon.com customer service training for several years) managed to get me through the order process reasonably well, but I'd be more worried about trying the Chinese or Japanese sites and accidentally ordering something entirely wrong. :)

The Japanese site has at least some English, which helped -- the Chinese one would be a lot harder to cope with, by the looks of it.
