Amazon weirdness
Apr. 5th, 2006 08:27 pmThe other week, I placed Gene Wolfe's Soldier of Sidon in the 'save for later' area of my Amazon shopping cart. This morning there was an 'important message' telling me that something I tried to place in my shopping cart didn't exist on the site; it took me a minute or two to figure out that it was the Wolfe that had gone missing. Later in the morning it was showing up as 'not available', but tonight it isn't even searchable.
Edit: curiouser and curiouser; it just happened again, this time to
karentraviss's Matriarch,
but that is still available for pre-order, and I was able to put it back.

Date: 2006-04-06 12:28 pm (UTC)I pre-ordered a collected comic (I won't called it a graphic novel when it isn't) from the UK Amazon site. The day of publication came and went and it stuck there. Suddenly they told me it wasn't available and wasn't going to be available, and removed it from my order.
A week or so back I saw it for pre-order. A couple of days ago it was on site as "delivered within 24 hours" with the original publication date I'd ordered it for. I've re-ordered it, and it tells me that it will be about two weeks.
Meanwhile, they persist in offering me paperback books I have bought from them in hardback, or books I have previously rated.
Go figure.
