Oh my goodness! I used to love that show and had actually forgotten it... I wonder how well it will stand up now? Do you remember what my mother always used to refer to as "the chickens"? (the sort of high pitched tweeting in the background that I guess was supposed to represent sonar or something).

I discovered the show when it was rerun in the UK in the early 1990s, and loved it. The more serious first-season episodes do stand up to, say, Babylon 5, I think, at least in terms of writing and acting if not production values. The later seasons are mostly cheezy fun, but not much sillier than ST: Voyager. I'm just hoping that Fox hung onto a better-preserved set of prints than the ones the SciFi channel was running (and chopping to bits) a few years back.
