Perils of communal laundry rooms
Nov. 6th, 2005 06:08 pmWell, that was strange, not to say annoying. I'm doing laundry, and one of my loads was a pair of black pants and a dark paisley skirt. (I know, I know, but I don't think I even own a complete load of dark cold-wash things.) I was transferring things to the drier as someone else was starting wash loads, and when I turned round to get those things to go in the low-heat drying load, she was using the machine and claimed there'd been 'absolutely nothing' in there. I checked my other drier load, but they weren't there. Eventually, after the other woman left, I peeked in the machine -- and there were my pants and skirt, fortunately in another cold-cycle wash. I fished them out, wrung them out a bit, and threw them in the drier with some extra time, which will take them into the middle of West Wing, unfortunately.
Sigh.
Sigh.
