A revelation

Thanks to a post by
coffee_and_ink, I am now aware of the existence of Joan Aiken YA books I have not read -- some of them even published since I graduated. This is startling as well as delightful. I loved those books: Black Hearts in Battersea; Midnight is a Place; The Wolves of Willoughby Chase; The Whispering Mountain. It never occurred to me that there might be more of them, perhaps because most of my favourite childhood authors were already long dead.
I'd been thinking only this morning that there was only more book (Worldwired) in my shopping cart for this year. Now I'm strongly tempted to order the whole Aiken series out of hand. After all, since the recent reorganization I have a special shelf for childhood favourites ...
