The locals call it the pretty weather time. The skies are achingly blue, the light clear and bright, but the heat is much less overpowering. The summer flowers are mostly over, though, and the summer grass is dead, waiting for the winter rye to sprout, and the butterflies won't sit still, so photographic pickings have been slim lately. (Fall colour doesn't really happen here; there are a few deciduous trees, but they mostly don't turn until December.)

I have found a few nice things, though: the big white Chorisia is covered in bloom, and the smaller pink one, almost smothered by its bigger neighbour, has also put out some mostly out-of-reach blossoms. The roses, at the tail end of the season, are probably happier than they were in the height of summer, and I found one last barrel cactus flower.
