Busy day, busy week

The plan was to take two weeks off work, and spend the first week catching up with stuff that needed doing, so I could relax for the second week. So far, so good: I've cleaned and decluttered the apartment, traded the year's crop of surplus books, renewed the lease, emptied the laundry hamper, ironed the pile that had been sitting since last March, and mended likewise, and taken care of most of my holiday shopping. As of this evening, there are two items left on the list; the rather vague 'paperwork', and 'Finish doilies'.
This last involves working through about two years' accumulation of thread crochet projects, working in loose ends and then washing and blocking. As several of these are either pieced-together designs, or have multiple points, the working-in-loose-ends part will probably keep me busy for several evenings. The washing-and-blocking part is limited to a couple of items a day because I only have two styrofoam boards, so that project will probably spill over into the following weeks.
The relaxation part of the program, I hope, will involve scanning more old photos of my favourite landscapes, getting stuck into Myst IV, and just lying on the couch reading to music. I'm within sight of the end of Neal Stephenson's The Confusion, and mean to post on that when I finish.
