I'm not much of a photographer, but I'm fond of this picture, taken
in Summer 2003 in the gardens of Chatsworth House, Derbyshire, England,
and used a snippet of it for my icon.

OK, this is by means of an experiment ...

This is a very old pond, maybe dating back to the 17th century. There's a duck-shaped fountain just out of shot -- you can see the reflection of the jet -- and what looks like a pipe is indeed a pipe, taking water from the reservoir on top of the hill to the much bigger Emperor fountain farther down.
