I wore one of my new outfits today. I think it's the same style as the one I rejected last time around as being too short, and then decided was OK after all. It's definitely shorter than I usually wear, and skimpier than the few things I do have at that length, so it covers my knees when I'm standing, but not necessarily when I'm sitting unless I'm careful. I'm not used to clothes that make me think that much about how I move. Most of my skirts and dresses are only a few inches above the ankle, and full enough that I can stride out without worrying about it; I nearly always wear long slips under the skirts with slits. I was very conscious today that I'm not graceful, and that my legs, while certainly not fat, are not ethereally slender. It's an odd feeling, and rather distracting. I think tomorrow I'll wear something old and comfortably voluminous.
