Weirdness

So this morning I was added to the f-list of a brand-new account, with 200 random friends, no posts, and nothing in the profile but what looked like a YouTube link, which I didn't click on. I shrugged and went on with my day; I've been friend-botted before, and they usually go away in a few hours if you don't friend them back.

Now the account has been suspended, and I'm wondering if that link was actually one of those fake virus-dropping ones. (I hadn't thought of that at the time; I just thought it was most likely something offensive.)

Ha -- was it Moska_65 (or something like that?) - because that dude friended me and I complained to LJ about it right quick.

Oh yeah, and the link was some .exe file.

Glad I'm on a Mac.

Oh yeah-- and I just checked and that dude is no longer on my Friends list.

So, I think it's important to report suspicious activities like this. Don't think it was necessarily my report - probably a lot of people reported him.

moska_55, in my case. New account, created today. Exactly 200 friends, quite likely pulled from a 'recently updated' list. I was too busy trying to install the new Vista service pack to be as suspicious as I should have been, but it's gone now.

Further investigation reveals that moska-1 through moska-59 are all suspended accounts.
