Spring Flowers, Arizona-style

There are all kinds of flowers around the campus at the moment. Many of them are exotics: staples like roses, pansies, snapdragons, daffodils and foxgloves, marigolds and sweet williams, poppies and sweet peas; bottle brush trees from Australia and orchid trees from India. Here and there, though, are some genuine local flowers, the delicate ephemeral blooms of the desert.
