It's just as hot as it was yesterday, and now the humidity is detectably creeping up. The National Weather Service thinks we have a 10% chance of thunderstorms by the 4th, though it isn't clear if that's based on extrapolation from current conditions or from the historical incidence of the monsoon breaking on the holiday. (In my nine summers of experience that's actually happened at least twice, so 10% would be an underestimate.) In the meantime, we're promised 110 degrees at the weekend. I don't even know what it's going to be doing in Phoenix, where I hope to be going.

I really have to do some serious writing tonight. 1600 words would put me at the [livejournal.com profile] thing_in_150 goal, and I've written nothing since Sunday; too hot, too tired, too distracted, and suffering a bad case of plot-indecision.
