Well, that was odd

I was just sitting here, writing checks and watching CNN, and the TV made a rude noise and went black. It seemed that it was the cable signal that went away -- the internet was dead too, but the TV and the 'online guide' were working fine. I decided to give it half an hour or so before calling the cable company. Sure enough, it came back, and everything is now working happily.

Time to go put the laundry in the dryer ...
