I'm in Sheffield, and this is coming to you courtesy of my brand-new mobile-broadband dongle. Next step is to figure out if I can get it to work on the Eee; the UK keyboard on my mother's laptop is causing me a few difficulties.

The trip went smoothly, except that for the transatlantic leg I got stuck in a block of seats where the entertainment system -- including the reading-light control -- was irremediably crashed, so I was sitting in the dark for about four hours, entertaining myself on the Palm. (It baffles me how anyone can even try to sleep on a plane, upright in an uncomfortable seat surrounded by strangers and engine noise, let alone succeed when it isn't even bedtime. I didn't even try this time; I've more or less caught up since, I think.)

Progress!

The Eee is endongled! Without my having to download anything extra, or update the BIOS, or guess a password. It might not have worked if I hadn't previously used the PC to establish the thing on the network, but it was very easy.
