Small sigh
Mar. 21st, 2009 05:56 pmI started putting together a necklace with jet beads and some rather nice polished shell chips on eye pins -- only to realize half way through that a couple of the shell pieces were mis-drilled such that the pins wouldn't go through. (And I wasn't making very good loops, anyway.) Back to the drawing board.
Then I went shopping and found some gorgeous iridescent glass beads that I thought would go nicely with the shell, and loved them so much I bought them even though they were inextricably tangled up with some much less interesting ones. And came home, and discovered that they're drilled off-center, almost briolette-style, which wasn't quite what I had in mind, and also that all the iridescence is on one side, where it would be mostly hidden by adjoining beads if they aren't well spaced out.
They had daffodils and heather at Trader Joe's, neither of which really belong in this climate.
