The olive trees are in bloom. Not the Texas olives, which have pretty, crinkly white flowers, but the real olives, which have almost invisible greenish flowers and pollen that can punch through benadryl as if it wasn't there. This probably explains why my spring sniffles have gone from too mild to medicate to impossible to medicate in the space of a couple of days. (I could also be getting the cold my colleague and his wife brought back from Germany. I don't know if it's possible to have a cold and nasal allergies at the same time, and I'm not sure I want to find out.)

Palm seems to have stopped selling non-phone handhelds. Not being ready to give up my TX for a while yet, I've ordered another one from Amazon to keep as a spare. (No, I don't want a Kindle instead. Or an iPod Touch. Or a smartphone of any description. I want something pocket-sized that I can word-process on in a pinch and that doesn't require dealing with a phone company, though most of what I do with the thing lately is play solitaire games.)

(Hmm. I wonder how many Bible translations are available on the Kindle, and if it lends itself to that. If page-flipping is slow, probably not.)

I see that the final installment of the Wheel of Time is planned for November. At this stage, I'm not sure how much I care, but I'll probably get it and read it. I've quite enjoyed the couple of Brandon Sanderson books I've read.
