Not this girl's best friend yet ...

But getting there, I think. Tonight, at least, we're in a good mood. We can connect! We can share files on the network! We can scan! We can even boot up, at least sometimes, without having to be taken by the hand and pointed at the right disk to boot from! Whether any of this will be true tomorrow, or whether it's a condition that will survive the tower being tucked into its hutch under the desk, is anyone's guess.

We can't, apparently, see the video of a copy-protected DVD in the media center, but it plays fine in MediaPlayer. Artificial stupidity and backwards progress abound, but I'm feeling a bit more hopeful now, and marginally less incompetent.
